Portland - Day Two/Part Two

After going to the farmers market yesterday, Krista and I drove to nearby Sauvie Island.  Strawberries are in season now, so we crossed the bridge and parked at Krueger Farms.  The strawberries are small and sweet, not like the large, tasteless berries that I find at my grocery store.  These will spoil you!  In a couple of weeks, the raspberries will be in season...too late for me this year; I'll miss them.

After we picked enough strawberries to last us for a day or two, we walked back to the store, paid for them, and decided to stay for lunch.  The rain held off, and it was really pleasant ouside.  There was a variety of food for sale, and many families were enjoying a Father's Day picnic.

While we ate lunch, we listened to some awesome bluegrass music from Max's Midnight Kitchen.  I liked them so much that I bought a CD they were selling, and we've been listening to it ever since.

It was such a great afternoon...fresh strawberries, good food, great music.  We finally mustered up the energy to head back to the car, and we took off for a little exploring.  Sauvie Island is so peaceful and beautiful.
We even found a lavender farm.
Back to Portland, but still looking for my next photograph...
See you soon!

  1. Enjoy your visit to Portland but remember, "It's all here in Balch Springs". Posie is fine. Sabrina and kids lemonade stand was a success. Later Tater
