A Trip to Magnolia Market

With a friend visiting for the weekend, we decided to take a one-day road trip to Waco, Texas to visit Magnolia Market. We stopped on the way in the tiny town of West, for the breakfast of champions: kolaches!

From there, we did a bit of walking around, finding all kinds of fun things to photograph!

Magnolia Market is the latest and great thing from the owners of the "Fixer Upper" television show. It was hot, humid and crowded, but definitely a place I'll visit again when it cools down (and after its popularity wanes a tiny bit)!

Afterwards, we drove over to Harp Design Co., which has been featured on "Fixer Upper."

Whitefish - Day Three

We started the day by perking up the Whitefish economy with a bit of shopping. The Montana Shirt Co. had all kinds of wonderful things, and the customer service was super!

We next hit up the downtown area of Whitefish, and as we got out of our car, there was a tremendous amount of honking...coming down the street were four school buses full of just-graduated seniors!

By the time we finished shopping and having lunch at the local creperie, it was time to head back home, where Tony and Dad were waiting for us. I had always wanted to drive up to Polebridge for dinner; it took a bit of time to get there, as a good part of the way is dirt road.  Known for its bakery (and huckleberry bear claws) and restaurant/bar, it's off the grid...no cell service, no wireless. Solar panels and a diesel generator power Polebridge. The weather was perfect, and we sat at a picnic table and had a good meal.
