Whitefish, Montana - Day Seven

This vacation is coming to an end; I fly home to Dallas tomorrow. It's been wonderful to spend time with my daughter, and to experience Montana in the winter. Honestly, people keep asking me why on earth I came here in January, but it's been great!  I've learned that it does take you an extra ten minutes or so to continue dressing yourself before you walk out the door...wool socks, snow boots, coat, scarf, hat, gloves. The snow is gorgeous, but studded snow tires are the way to go. The air smells so clean up here, and it's SO quiet outside. Downtown Whitefish looks like a Christmas card, and has lots of fun shops and excellent restaurants. I enjoyed Kalispell, too. Can't wait to come back! In the meantime, thanks for coming along for the ride!

Whitefish, Montana - Day Six

Today we drove to Glacier National Park.  The temps had warmed up, and it was a balmy 25 degrees or so. Such a spectacular trip!

Whitefish, Montana - Day Five

This morning, we had a visitor in the front yard.
It takes a long time here to get ready to go out...wool socks, boots, layers of clothing, topped with a scarf, coat, hat and gloves...
Eventually, we headed out, and it was a beautiful day.
As we drove to Kalispell, beautiful winter scenery unfolded.

Our first stop of the day was a Kalispell Museum, which was originally the town's library.

I think this van has been parked for awhile...
We next drove around the historic part of town, and saw some lovely homes.

We window shopped a bit, since it was warmer today.

Finally, we headed back to Whitefish for an early dinner.  Twilight was absolutely gorgeous.

 A local museum.
