Day 2 - Lyon, France - Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse
Paul Bocuse is a very well-known chef from Lyon. He runs one of the few Michelin three-starred restaurants in France outside of town, and is known as the ambassador of modern French cuisine. This morning, we visited a most gorgeous food hall named in his honor. If I lived here, I would be a regular visitor.

Day 1 - Lyon, France
After an uneventful trip across the pond, we landed in Paris early this morning. By the time we cleared customs and retrieved our luggage, it was time to find the train station (which is handily at the airport). Soon, we were on the fast train to Lyon, with beautiful green countryside speeding by. We arrived at noon, and my friend, Victoria, met us at our hotel. We had a nice lunch before heading to her apartment (luckily only blocks away) to pick up Joy and Sofia, her Spanish Galgas, both rescued and loving their wonderful life. Victoria's apartment is near a very nice park, so the girls had a romp, and then we returned to the hotel to rest up. Of course I had to attempt this blog post, and ran into all sorts of wireless difficulties, but it's finally up and running (a good kick in the pants and a restart seemed to do it).
Here are a few photos of the day. We haven't crashed yet, despite the eight-hour time difference and lack of sleep on the plane. Victoria has invited us to dinner at her apartment tonight, and tomorrow she's taking us all over Lyon to show us the sights. I think everyone will sleep well tonight. Stay tuned for more adventures tomorrow!
