Amsterdam - Day One

After nine days in Saint Cirq-Lapopie, France, I am now in Amsterdam for the next five days. Nancy, John and I rented a canal house, and it's perfect!  They have a one bedroom apartment, and I have a studio, both on the ground floor facing one of Amsterdam's many canals. The location is great...close to the Anne Frank house, museums, shopping, and good restaurants. Here are a few photographs, starting with the apartment.

Here's my adorable studio:

And here's the outside:

It's been a long day, so I'm off to get some sleep. More Amsterdam photos tomorrow! Night night.

France - Day Nine

This morning the sun finally came out, just as we were leaving! Naturally, I snapped a few more photographs to remember this perfect week by, and Nancy even took a photo of me.

We were sad to leave, but I know I'll be back.  From Saint Cirq-Lapopie, we drove to the town of Figiac before heading south to the Toulouse Airport. I've decided my favorite color is called French Green...and it is everywhere!

See you later France...I'm off to Amsterdam!

France - Day Eight

Today is our last full day here at Maison Panoramique. We've never tired of the view, and we've made new friends. I'm already thinking about coming back again. This morning, we followed the recommendation of friends, Nerida and Ann, and drove ten miles or so to tiny village of Limogne to ferret out Marie-Agnes.  Known for her lovely handmade cotton bedding, she also had jewelry, hats, and china. Definitely worth the visit!

France - Day Seven - Part Trois

In addition to seeing the lovely holiday home, we were privileged to also see our friends' homes for the first time. They were tres belle! We started at Nerida's house. Nerida is from Australia, and she's a very talented painter, who has lived in Saint Cirq-Lapopie for many years.

To haul things up and down in these old homes, you have to get creative!

From there, we walked down to Ann's charming home!

Thank you, Ann and Nerida!
