Becton
I photographed Becton's fourth birthday session last week, and it was so much fun! Alabama in the summer is hot and humid, so even though we started early, it was already the beginning of a very warm day! We shot out in the country, at the old home place of Becton's great-great-grandfather. The scent of honeysuckle layered the air, and it so reminded me of when I was Becton's age, running up and down the red dirt roads!
Becton's great-grandfather stopped by while we were shooting. He really didn't want to be in the photographs, but you know how I feel about hands...
How old are you going to be, Becton? "Four!!"
After tiring of snake patrol, washcloth wiping duty, and bee alert, we went back to town to check out Becton's new house. It's lovely, and there's even a friendship gate in the yard! Oh, and did I mention the swing?? Love it!
You're a lucky boy, Becton! I hope you have a wonderful fourth birthday!
Alabama Chanin
I recently had the opportunity to visit Alabama Chanin in Florence, Alabama. A short drive north from my family's small northwestern Alabama town, my cousin, daughter, mother, and I took a little road trip to check it out. Every bit as good as I'd imagined, we had lunch there and then took a tour of the studio. Phenomenal!
Dora was quite impressed with the desserts of the day.
Loved the chair..."we should all do what in the long run gives us joy..."
Our lovely tour guide, Erin!
The food was so good that our neighbors gave the chef a standing ovation! We were still busy eating, or we would have joined them...
