Patio Time
As springtime scatters bluebonnets onto the sides of the freeways in the Dallas area, and a nice breeze blows, it's fun to have lunch outside. Earlier today, the Woodshed Smokehouse was the place to be. Perfect weather out on the patio, happy people, many with dogs, and a view of the Trinity River, And did I mention the food was divine? My Uncle Bob is doing some work in Fort Worth, so I met him today and he suggested the Woodshed. My friend, Jeanie, met us there, where we had a leisurely lunch, enjoyed the good food and the company, and even got a tour by our waitperson Josiah of the smokehouse. Perfection on a peaceful Sunday morning.

Texas Tulips
Today, I drove north to Pilot Point, Texas to check out a tulip farm. The farm is closing for the season in just a few days, so most of the tulips are gone, but it was still worth the visit. Texas Tulips is owned by a family from the Netherlands, and what they have accomplished is rather amazing. I've seen tulips in and around Amsterdam, and that someone would even think of growing them in Texas is incredible. Next year, I plan to stop by sooner in the season when more of the tulips are in bloom, but in the meantime, here are a few photographs. By the way, any flowers that you pick and purchase are beautifully wrapped, and young Pieter does a very good job!

National Mill Dog Rescue
Twice a year, I donate a pet photography session to National Mill Dog Rescue's online auction. Although they're in Colorado Springs, this organization has over 328,000 Facebook fans, and there's always someone in the Dallas area to bid on my session. With all proceeds going to NMDR, it's a great way for the winning bidders to support the organization, and I'm happy to donate my time, as well. Today, I drove down to Cleburne, Texas, where I was to meet Kathi, the winning bidder, and her husband, Steve, along with their two dogs, Baron and Sheba. They actually brought one more...sweet Abby, a tiny puppy who they'd rescued just yesterday! Everyone was a good sport, and we had tons of fun. We shot at the Chisholm Trail Outdoor Museum, which was very impressive. Here are a few photos from the day, which, by the way, was one of the stunning blue sky Texas days with a bit of a breeze blowing through the trees!

Rosie Posie
Rose has lived with me since June of 2004. A rescue and a supposed mix of Rat Terrier and Italian Greyhound, she's a sprite of a thing who has stuck with me through the good and the bad times. Now about sixteen years old, she's slowing down, but Rose is still very dedicated to her mama. Here are a few of my favorite photos of her. As you can see, she loves to have her picture taken...all I have to do is pull out my camera, or even my cell phone, and she poses.
