Here are a few photos of the day. We haven't crashed yet, despite the eight-hour time difference and lack of sleep on the plane. Victoria has invited us to dinner at her apartment tonight, and tomorrow she's taking us all over Lyon to show us the sights. I think everyone will sleep well tonight. Stay tuned for more adventures tomorrow!

Day 1 - Lyon, France
After an uneventful trip across the pond, we landed in Paris early this morning. By the time we cleared customs and retrieved our luggage, it was time to find the train station (which is handily at the airport). Soon, we were on the fast train to Lyon, with beautiful green countryside speeding by. We arrived at noon, and my friend, Victoria, met us at our hotel. We had a nice lunch before heading to her apartment (luckily only blocks away) to pick up Joy and Sofia, her Spanish Galgas, both rescued and loving their wonderful life. Victoria's apartment is near a very nice park, so the girls had a romp, and then we returned to the hotel to rest up. Of course I had to attempt this blog post, and ran into all sorts of wireless difficulties, but it's finally up and running (a good kick in the pants and a restart seemed to do it).

France on the Horizon!
I'm leaving soon for two weeks in France! To say I'm excited would be the understatement of the year. Those of you who know me, know how much I love France. Although I've been almost every year for the last ten years, there's so much left to see. As a photographer, it's sensory overload, and every morning I can't wait to get out my camera.
This year, I'll be traveling to the Burgundy region with my friends Nancy and John. We will arrive in Lyon on September 8th and spend three days there. I'm looking forward to meeting a Facebook friend, Victoria, who is the proud owner of two Spanish galgos, Joy and Sofia. Photographs of the dogs at the dog park are on my agenda! Victoria has also graciously offered to show us around her city. What fun! From there, it's a week in Dijon, followed by three days in Paris before flying home.
I'll be blogging the entire time, so feel free to come along with me! I love sharing my photographs and reading your comments on my blog posts. For now, I'm getting things ready to go. Mr. Bill will be house sitting and watching the girls (I'm so lucky there!), and I've got some new super lightweight luggage to try out. All I need now is for the week to fly by! I hope to see you soon!

Asher
Today I had the pleasure of photographing Liz and her adorable cocker spaniel, Asher. I've photographed a lot of dogs in my time, but Asher is one of the most photogenic and well-behaved pups I've ever encountered. Here are a few of my favorites.
