Today was a busy day. Our friends Martine and Jean-Paul took us on a day trip, along with friends Marie-France, Jocelyn, and René. We started with a trip across the border to Germany, where we stopped to see the Rhine River, and then a basilica. It was cold and windy, but well worth the visit. Of course it was so nice not to have to drive and to find things!

We stopped for coffee and tea at an ice cream shop before driving back into France. No takers for ice cream since it was early!

The sun came out as we were driving and it warmed up nicely. Before we knew it, we were at our lunch destination. 

After lunch, more scenic views through some of the little villages on the Wine Route. The vineyards are so gorgeous this time of year. Everything is very green. 

We finished the day with a drive up to Mont Sainte Odile. Breathtaking views, incredible history. There’s a monastery and a convent there, plus a chapel.
