The Pasture at Willows Ranch

I spent yesterday at Fred and Peggy Hunt's awesome wedding venue in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, doing a little photographing here and there. With help from Jeanie Madeley, stylist extraordinaire, we set up some vignettes, and I was able to snap a photograph or two (or 380). The Pasture at Willows Ranch is a relatively new venture, and it is perfect for a country or vintage-themed wedding. I've known Fred and Peggy for almost ten years, and they are truly dedicated to insuring that weddings at The Pasture meet every bride's dreams.

When you walk into the barn, the first thing you'll notice is the scent of cedar. It reminds me of the cedar chest that my grandmother kept in the hallway of her old dogtrot house in rural Alabama. The barn has air conditioning and heating, to insure that the wedding party and guests are comfortable at all times. It's very large, with room for people upstairs, downstairs, and out on the patio.  The second thing I noticed (and perhaps it's only because I'm a photographer) is that the light in and around the barn is absolutely perfect. Parts of it seem to glow, which is wonderful when you're trying to capture just the right photograph.

Fred recently completed a gazebo, which is perfect for the exchange of wedding vows.

Handcrafted willow furniture and lighting (courtesy of Fred) is displayed throughout.

Ms. Dude is available to act as flower girl at no additional charge.  Well, perhaps a treat or two would be nice!

The Pasture also has a magical little suite for the bride to get ready in on her special day.

So if you're looking for the perfect venue for a wedding (or even a family reunion or retreat), consider The Pasture at Willows Ranch.  You'll be in good hands.

Santa Fe - Day Three

Today was our last day in Santa Fe.  After breakfast at Pasqual's, we walked to an arts and crafts show in the square.  One of the vendors was selling dog hats.  Missy and I went a little nuts and bought hats for Rose and Coco, as well as for the Goldies (Hannah and Riley).

There were a lot of dogs walking around enjoying the fine weather today.

After looking at all the booths, we went to the Georgia O'Keeffe museum. Always a must-see, it is the number one attraction in Santa Fe.

We had time for one last stop, and quickly walked back to the see the Loretto Chapel.  On the way, these geraniums caught my eye, as well as the architecture that is so well known in this area.

The chapel was crowded, but we managed to take a few photographs.

Checking out of the hotel, we sped south to Albuquerque, and caught our plane home.
Here are Rose and Coco, modeling their hats.

Hope you enjoyed seeing some of the sights of Santa Fe. I'm trying to figure out when I can go back again...

Santa Fe Day Two

Today was another great day in Santa Fe!  We started early, walking to Saint Francis Cathedral Basilica.

After breakfast, we drove to Ten Thousand Waves, which is a phenomenal spa. We spent the next three hours being pampered and practicing becoming zen-like (which didn't last long for me!).

Here are some very cool rabbit sculptures on our staircase in the hotel.  They remind me of Italian Greyhounds a little!
After lunch, we went to Canyon Road, home of many of Santa Fe's art galleries.  You could really spend an entire day or more walking and looking, but we did manage to see a lot in the several hours we were there.

After a short rest at the hotel, we did some walking around the downtown area.

This is the Georgia O'Keeffe Resource Center.  We plan to visit the museum tomorrow morning.

Thanks for stopping by!  More to come!
