Luxembourg Gardens

Autumn is my favorite season.  The colors, the textures, everything about it is just right.  I spent a Sunday morning in Paris last month walking around Luxembourg Gardens. Created in 1612 by Queen Marie de Medicis, she commissioned its design based upon a palazzo from her native Florence, Italy.  In late October, the park is crisp with falling leaves.  It's the largest public park in Paris, and one can spend a lot of time people watching, looking at the artwork, and sitting in the sunshine facing the palace (which is now used by the senate).  Despite that, there is still an air of intimacy, which is enchanting.  I felt very cozy and content there, yet incredibly lonely, at the same time.  Everytime I visit Paris, I always walk to this park.  In a way, it's like coming home, even if there is no one there to greet me.

 

 

 

 

Evelyn and Nino

Evelyn wanted a photo session of her and her "first baby," Nino the Pomeranian, for a long time.  Today, we met at a nature preserve for the shoot.  Her husband, Sergio, and son, Lucas, decided to come along to be in a few photographs.  I'd photographed Lucas last year about this time, and could not believe how much he had grown!  Here are some of my favorite photographs from the beautiful autumn morning.
